From age 16 to 18 and with a considerable amount of teenage angst and embarrassment, I drove a 1967 Dodge Dart (at the bottom of the driveway in the photo) handed down from my father to my brother to me. When I started my senior year in high school, I pestered my father relentlessly until he broke down and bought me a 1984 Honda CRX on November 26, 1986, for $5,978. With its peppy, 1.5-liter engine and nimble handling, I was smitten, and my love affair with the automobile had begun.
